A Money Taboo?

Comment
1.) money is not a neutral tool (it is a structure for society, for the economy, it is an instrument of power)
2.) money today, i.e. capitalism, has a built-in urge to grow. Money has to multiply.
3.) Question: what can we do in the future? The bridges backward (to relationsip money) are destroyed.
The One-Million-Pound Note Film with Gregory Peck
The film “The Million Pound Note” (1954) is a British comedy film based on the Mark Twain short story “The Million Pound Bank Note”. In this film, two wealthy brothers, Oliver and Roderick Montpelier, engage in a bet. They give a randomly chosen poor man (Henry Adams, played by Gregory Peck) a one million pound note to see whether he can survive for a month without spending it.
The Capital Function
A famous poet and financial expert wondered how John Law's fiasco was possible - was it down to the individual or the system? His discovery seemed so outrageous to him that he did not have it published during his lifetime.
Money definitions
It is important that monetary terms are defined because they form the basis of our economic, political and social thinking. Without clear definitions, misunderstandings arise, shifts in power remain invisible and key questions are not asked.

Coins
Lead Currencies of the World
The writing revolution began 5,000 years ago with cuneiform writing. The first gold-silver system emerged under the Persians, followed by the Athenian tetradrachm as the early leading currency of the Mediterranean region. Rome minted the denarius, which led to inflation in times of war. In the Middle Ages, Louis the Pious reformed the coinage system and the Florentine fiorino stood for economic strength. Silver coins such as the Maria Theresa thaler became cross-border trading currencies. The French franc symbolized revolutionary ideas, while under George III, Great Britain modernized its currency - on the way to becoming the next global reserve currency.

The coins of the Roman Republic
In the Shadow of Rome's Eagles tells the coin history of the Roman Republic - based on a carefully curated collection that the MoneyMuseum was able to acquire years ago. In this video, editor Ursula Kohler talks about the great effort and care that went into the creation of the book.
